Workshops and Lectures!

I had the pleasure of teaching my first workshop at the HandCraft Studio School in Emeryville, CA on January 31st.  A great group, from beginners to experienced embroiderers, learned the basic stitch of Hungarian written embroidery and made a drawstring bag with Romanian linen and thread.

My next workshop will be Saturday, April 4, from 1 - 5, at the HandCraft Studio School. Please join me!

The women of the San Francisco chapter of the Embroiderers' Guild of America welcomed me to their February meeting on the 9th.  After a lovely dinner, I spoke about Hungarian embroidery, with a focus on the Kalocsa, Matyó, and Kalotaszeg styles.  It was so much fun sharing what I know and learning from their combined hundreds of years of experience stitching!

I'm looking for more opportunities to teach and lecture, so please email me, sarah[at]threadwrittentextiles.com, if you know of a potential group or venue in California.  Also sign up for my mailing list to be notified of upcoming events!
